Through a resolution adopted unanimously by the Consultancy Board of the Istanbul Book Fair, Mr. Doğan Hızlan has been determined as being the 25 th Istanbul Book Fair’s Author of Honor.
Since 1989, the Istanbul Book Fair which will celebrate its silver anniversary this year, has included culture and literature related activities bringing together the authors and their readers around a different theme each year. The theme of the Book Fair which will be staged between the 28 th of October and the 5 th of November, 2006 has been determined by the Consultancy Board of the Istanbul Book Fair as being “The 25 Years of the Book Fair – A Journey Story”.

With the enthusiasm of passing a quarter of a century, the Istanbul Book Fair will be staged this year with the participation of nearly 500 publishing companies and non governmental organizations. During the cultural events and autograph days, hundreds of authors, artists, scientists, journalists and politicians will have the opportunity to meet with the readers guest authors. The 25 th Istanbul Book Fair will be staged simultaneously with ARTİST 2006 – The 16 th Istanbul Art Fair.
