GREAT ATTENTION FOR EKSPOMED-LABTEK FAIRS 

THE FAIRS, HONORED BY PROF. DR. RECEP AKDAĞ, THE MINISTER OF HEALTH; WERE BEYOND THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE SECTOR

EXPOMED 2010 17th International Istanbul Medical Analysis, Diagnosis, Health Care, Hospital Supplies and Rehabilitation Aids Fair and LAB-TECH 2010 13th International Istanbul Laboratory Technologies and Equipment Fair, which has been prepared with the cooperation of TÜYAP Fairs and TUMDEF - Federation Of Medical Devices Manufacturers And Suppliers Association with is member organizations; MASSİAD - Marmara Region Healthcare Sector Businessmen Association, TÜDER - Medical Equipment and Device Manufacturers Association, CUMED - Çukurova Association of Medical Industrialists Central, IMDER - Central Anatolia Medical Industrialist Association, ANATOLIAN Medical Industrialist Association, BALIKESİR Medical Devices Association, DENİZLİ Medical Devices Association, DOMED - East Anatolia Medical Devices Association, E.T.M.D. - Aegean Medical Devices Association, EGESİAD - Aegean Healthcare Sector Businessmen Association, GAZİANTEP Medical Devices Manufacturers, BLACK SEA Healthcare Sector Businessmen Association, MALATYA Medical Devices Association, with SEİS - Health Industry Employers Association of Turkey and SADER - The Health Care Products Manufacturers, and Representatives Association, had been realized in Istanbul - Tüyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center on 18 – 21 March 2010.

The opening ceremony of the fairs was held in TÜYAP, in 60.000 m2 closed area with the attendance of 1164 firms and delegates from 41 countries by TGNA Health Commission Member and Deputy of Erzurum Muzaffer Gülyurt, Assistant Governor of Istanbul, Ahmet Aydın, Assistant Governor of Denizli, Halil İbrahim Ertekin, Istanbul Local Health Authority Head, Prof. Dr. Ali İhsan Dokucu, President of TUMDEF - Federation Of Medical Devices Manufacturers And Suppliers Association, Mehmet Ali Özkan, President of SEİS - Health Industry Employers Association of Turkey, Metin Demir, President of SADER - The Health Care Products Manufacturers, and Representatives Association, Engin Arel and CEO of TÜYAP Serdar Yalçın. Expomed and Lab-Tech Fairs had also been visited by Turkish Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Recep Akdağ and Undersecretary of Turkish Ministry of Health Prof. Dr. Nihat Tosun.

Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Recep Akdağ in his visit to the fair met with the authorities of healthcare professional organizations and Non Governmental Organizations. Looking around the fair area, Akdağ received information about the new products, technological developments and conducted studies from the participant companies. Prof Dr. Recep Akdağ met with the sector representatives after his visit to the fair area in a meeting where the sector problems had been discussed. The meeting, which was commented as motivating and constructive by the sector professionals, lasted around two hours with question and answers.
