WORLD OF WOOD PROCESSING TO MEET IN TÜYAP
WOOD PROCESSING MACHINERY 2009 and INTERMOB 2009 FAIRS, organized by TÜYAP every year consistently, has been developing with the sector since 22 years. WOOD PROCESSING MACHINERY and INTERMOB fairs attracted both domestic and foreign attention, while witnessing important activities.
Based on previous inspections and assessments, the Wood Processing Machinery fair has received EUMABOIS support this year. As it will be known, the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers is comprised of 13 woodworking machinery manufacturers associations and supports only one fair in every country.
Through much effort over the years, our events have become important agenda items and have brought together the latest technologies with their buyers. Our events receive attention across the world and were attended by members of the American Hardwood Export Council ( AHEC ).
The Turkish Furniture Accessories Brands Association MAKSDER has supported Intermob to accelerate its growth.
Consistently growing for 22 years since 1988, Wood Processing Machinery and Intermob Fairs have become the most important business platform for professionals within and outside Turkey while being recognized as the event with the most coverage in Turkey and the Eurasian region. With your continued support, the fairs have brought together 714 companies and representatives from 65 countries with 32,627 professional visitors, 2,135 of whom were from other countries.
Great foreign interest
We have worked across our target region to attract high-profile visitors to our events. As a result of our efforts at our Tüyap Sofia, Moscow, Tbilisi, Skopje, Aleppo and Tehran offices and representatives in 28 countries, 2,135 foreign professionals have visited the fairs. Part of the transportation, accommodation and living expenses of these visitors was paid by Tüyap. These visitors were from Germany, USA, Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, UAE, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Algeria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Armenia, Morocco, Palestine, Finland, France, Georgia, Croatia, India, Netherlands, Iraq, UK, Iran, Ireland, Spain, Israel, Switzerland, Italy, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Kosovo, Libya, Lithuania, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Hungary, FYRO Macedonia, Egypt, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Sudan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Jordan and Greece.
Model factories were set up in the fair
The fair hosted a different and innovative activity that has never been seen in any other fairs, with the area in WOOD PROCESSING MACHINERY 2009 fair. Attendant companies show the establishment and working phases of a factory by set up model factories to exhibited the latest technology products.
International Association of Furniture Publishers members meeting
In order to promote these events and the respective industries abroad, the editors of the industrial publications which are the members of International Association of Furniture Publishers (IAFP) in 22 countries (Germany, Australia, Belgium, UAE, France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Ukraine and Greece) have been invited to our fairs. They were given information about the volume of these industries and the Turkish market. The global meeting of the IAFP was held at the Heybeli hall of our venue on Saturday, September 27th, 2009.
MODOKO, MASKO and MODESA days
The managers of furniture companies located at the Modoko, Masko and Modesa visited our fair on the 28th, 29th and 30th of September.
Like in previous years, Anatolian Participation was promoted through the owners and managers of small and medium businesses, the end-users of the products and services exhibited in our events and a total of 5,357 visitors were hosted from Adana, Adapazarı, Afyonkarahisar, Aksaray, Amasya, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bartın, Bolu, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Çorum, Denizli, Düzce, Erzincan, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Isparta, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Karaman, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Konya, Kütahya, Malatya, Manisa, Mersin, Muğla, Nevşehir, Niğde, Osmaniye, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Tokat, Uşak, Yalova and Zonguldak. Supporting small and medium businesses has strengthened the industry during times of recession as we experience today.
Sector has hope in 2009
Increasing the export by 30 percent in 2008, the furniture sector exports most of the goods to Germany, Iraq, France, Iran and Greece. Expanding by 10 percent in item base, and by 4.5 in endorsement base on domestic markets, the sector hopes to convalesce after the VAT reduction, despite the 20 percent recession in the first quarter of year 2009 resulting from the major effects of the crisis.
As the edifice of strength, faith, determination, hard work and cooperation, our fairs contribute significantly to the development of the industry. In 2010, the fairs will be held between the 16 - 20 October 2010.
Tüyap in Brief
Established in 1979, TÜYAP organized many fairs in İstanbul Sports and Exhibition Palace, Etap Marmara Hotel and İstanbul Exhibition Center; all expanding and increasing. In order to meet modern fair center needs, TÜYAP Beylikdüzü Fair and Congress Center entered into service in 1996, becoming the greatest fair center in Turkey with an area of 60.000 square meters.
Paying attention to collaboration with domestic and foreign vocational organizations, TÜYAP is a member of International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA),International Association of Organizers of National Pavilions at Trade Fairs (INTEREXPO), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). TÜYAP was the pioneer to the establishment of the most important vocational association of Turkey, Turkey Fair Organizers Association. TÜYAP still carries on the task to be the term manager of the Association.
